Batam -ing

Batam, the land of second wives.

We took the ferry from Harbourfront and frankly, we had a quite good time exploring the city with the tour group.

Uncle Andrew was really nice to everyone  and even went go-karting with us. 

For 50 bux per pax , we enjoyed a nice seafood lunch and a pretty dandy 2-Star hotel with excellent WI-Fi, including return ferry tickets.

How nice :) 

Dampener

I knew it.

I knew the price was unbelievable for a 5 Star hotel. Damn fine print . But nonetheless, it's much cheaper than booking anywhere else online.

You bet it, I triple checked. Around $400 cheaper. 

Oh wells, at least I can secure one of the best morning views of my life .

Saturday

Since we need to go out pretty darn early tomorrow morning at 5am, I should'nt do much today. Cameron Diaz was really good in Bad Teacher.

Enjoyed it while munching on my toast and bread.

Maybe I'll do some 'yoga'

Domestic Helper

No conversation was ever spared with this sentence for the past 2 months 

, " When are we going to get a new maid?" 

I could do so much more with that extra cash and would rather do my own housework or cook my own meals. Maybe , I could even gain back my wifey sense of domestic pride too.  

But I'll do anything for my MIL's happiness and our family.

Prejudice at work

Is it because I'm not one of the 75% population in S'pore?
Is it because it's rare to have 'my kind' be accomplished?
Is it because you don't think I deserve to be rewarded/compensated even though almost 60% of your salary comes from my hard earned sales?

Are you serious? If my other colleague of your race does the same, will you treat him/her like that?

Oh well, such is life. But you should know I prove most of my skeptics wrong.
